About Ger White
Gerardine White (Ger White) grew up in wild open country in the West of Ireland — specifically West Limerick, in a traditional thatched cottage set in a grove of trees looking onto the Kerry Hills, near an Irish Rambling House where neighbours told stories around the fire.
She is the daughter of the late Paddy Faley from Glenbawn, Ballyhahill, a noted poet and writer. Her sister Peg Prendeville is also a poet (author of The Purple Pencil), and the family is rich in creative talent. Ger inherited the skill of poetic rhyme from her parents and writes to give continuity to traditional Irish ways of entertainment and for fun.
Now living in East Grinstead, England, she is involved in writing circles including the Word Lovers Club in Sussex. She describes herself as a spiritual person, very grounded and connected with life. Her poems are uplifting and humorous, touching the heart and soul of what it is to be human.
Ger is published in Clarendon House Publications (Poetica Series), Sweetycat Press, Linden Press, Impspired publications, and her work appears in over 22 anthologies. She has been featured on Spillwords (Author of the Month) and East London Radio.
"I write to bring joy to others. And also I write to continue a Celtic tradition of writing and to restore past traditions to life."
